No official cause of death has been released.With his long blond hair and tight leather outfits, Lane embodied the excess of 1980s "hair metal" rock bands. He joined Warrant in 1984 and wrote such hits as "Heaven," "Down Boys" and "Cherry Pie."Lane was also on an edition of Celebrity Fit Club in 2005 and had a few small acting roles as well.

In 2009, he was arrested for allegedly crashing into a parked car and put on probation after pleading no contest to a DUI charge.


He was handed a career boost last year when he replaced Jack Russell on rock band Great White's 25th anniversary tour dates.Warrant's two first albums -- "Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich" in 1989 and "Cherry Pie" in 1990 -- sold more than 2 million copies each, achieving double-platinum status.He adopted his stage name around 1983 and a couple years later moved to Los Angeles searching for fame -- which he found after teaming up with core members of Warrant.
