Cancelation of Kate Plus 8

Reality TV mom Kate Gosselin's show about her struggles as a single mother of eight has been canceled. After an appropriately-numbered 8 seasons, TLC is terminating the reality star mother's series, "Kate Plus 8."TLC has decided not to renew another season of Kate Plus 8," the network says in a statement, first reported by People. "By the end of this season Kate Plus 8 will have hit the 150 episode mark (including Jon & Kate Plus 8); an exceptional milestone. TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future."

Kate Gosselin doesn't seem to have regrets about her tumultuous past few years. "I know that I'm glad to be divorced and on my own," she says, addressing ex-husband Jon Gosselin, 34, in a clip from an episode of Kate + 8, which airs Monday night on TLC; the show's final episode will air Sept. 12.

Kate Plus 8 won't be adding any more episodes. TLC announced today that its long-running Kate Gosselin series — originally called Jon & Kate Plus 8, before Jon was subtracted from the equation — will not be renewed for another season.

Debuting in 2007, originally on Discovery Healthy, "Jon & Kate Plus 8" followed the everyday trials of a Pennsylvania family raising 8 children and later, to much higher ratings, the dissolution of the titular parents' marriage.Following her divorce from Jon Gosselin in 2009, the renamed "Kate Plus 8" shifted the focus to the female Gosselin starting in Season 6.

The network noted that the franchise will hit the 150-episode milestone soon and teased that it may "check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future," if the demand for her grim, increasingly lacquered approach to parenthood is high enough.
