Elizabeth Banks: Motherhood Will Not Stop Me From Acting

Elizabeth Maresal Mitchell born February 10, 1974, known professionally as Elizabeth Banks, is an American actress. Banks had her film debut in the low-budget independent film Surrender Dorothy. Since then, she is best known for her roles in the films Definitely, Maybe, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, W., Role Models, Wet Hot American Summer, The Uninvited and the Spider-Man franchise.Elizabeth Banks admits she's balancing her career and being a new mom to son Felix "not that well," but regardless, she isn't planning to slow down anytime soon.

"I'm not really a break-taker," Banks, 37, told PEOPLE with a laugh on Saturday while promoting her latest flick, Our Idiot Brother. "I'll just keep on going, and then we'll see. You do it. You push through just like any other working mom."

On television, Banks currently stars in the recurring role of Avery Jessup on the sitcom 30 Rock, which gained her a nomination for an Emmy Award. Previously, Banks had starred in the recurring role of Dr. Kim Briggs on Scrubs from 2006 to 2009.

She continues, “I don’t want to say I take it day by day, but I pretty much take it month by month. My life is now in monthly increments.”
“All I can tell you is that Effie does have pink hair. When the hair and makeup was finished, we had all these people in the trailer and it was like everybody just got giddy all at once, like, “We did it!” and “This is Effie! It’s going to be awesome!” We were so happy.”

As it turns out, EB had read the book long before it was in talks to become a film:

“I read the book a long time ago. I was a very early adopter. I’d actually just read a book called The Maze Runner, which is another great book with a similar theme, but it has a male protagonist … my husband and I are always looking for properties to produce. So we had an advance reader’s copy of The Maze Runner.”
Ever since VH1 put together their strange list of title-only relevant music for their fantasy soundtrack for ‘The Hunger Games’, I’ve wanted to put together my own list of artists and song types I’d like to see on the various albums that will be coming out for the movies. I tried picking songs that fit both the various environments of the book and specific scenes. For some, I just love their voices, so I threw something in that would showcase that well.

The studio execs were like, ‘People don’t want to see girls [in the bathroom].’ And I was like, ‘I’m writing from experience! You go to a club and you have to wait in a huge line, so people double up. And, yes, you think you’re only going to take a little pee, but sometimes some poops come out.’ We never got the pooping scene as right as they got it in ‘Bridesmaids.’”
