Lady Gaga to Singapore
The American pop star, wearing her trademark sunglasses and a large bowtie-shaped wig on her head, departed on a private charter from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport at around 10:30 p.m.
The contestants sang and dance in their loudest, gaudiest Lady Gaga-inspired costumes during the contest, where the payout for the best 100 performers was one ticket each to the SingTel AMPed 'Born This Way' Lady Gaga showcase on Thursday.
The performances ranged from the bizarre - an ultra-emotional rendition of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" - to simply amazing, where it felt as though the performer managed to channel Lady Gaga's spirit.
Lady Gaga decided to fly to Singapore earlier than scheduled to prepare for her next promotion there, because she was very tired after a concert in Taichung on Sunday, said Universal Music Taiwan, which organized her visit to Taiwan.
As she left her Taipei hotel for the airport, the American singer blew a kiss to the crowd from her car but she did not stop to sign autographs for fans who had waited for hours.
