NAVY (USN) UNITED STATES

The United States Navy (USN) is the naval warfare service branch of the United States Armed Forces and one of the seven uniformed services of the United States. The U.S. Navy is the largest in the world; its battle fleet tonnage is greater than that of the next 13 largest navies combined.[4] The U.S. Navy also has the world's largest carrier fleet, with 11 in service, one under construction (two planned), and one in reserve.

With more sailors staying in the military amid a slumping economic recovery, the U.S. Navy is taking the unprecedented step of firing low-ranking petty officers to help rein in spending.

In terms of military ecclesiastical power, this position makes him the Navy’s version of the Pope.  Rumors at the time whispered he was extremely liberal; and he didn’t waste time proving it.  Immediately after repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”, RADM Tidd issued a directive to all naval chaplains: from now on, they would “be allowed” to perform same-sex marriages.

Microbial fuel cells aren't exactly new, but microbial fuel cells scouring the ocean floor? Now that's an initiative we can get behind. The Naval Research Laboratory is currently toying around with a so-called Zero Power Ballast Control off the coast of Thailand, presumably looking for treasures dropped from the speedboat of one "Alan Garner.

His visit is part of an effort to ease frosty relations with Beijing after a series of setbacks in recent years, including U.S. arms sales to Taiwan, repeated incidents of cyberattacks emanating from China and concerns about that nation's growing military buildup.

For the family of the victim, 29-year-old Nicholas Nalls, it was a devastating blow. "We just couldn't understand it," Nalls' father, Jerry Carter, said recently. "I can't tell you how disappointed I was to hear that my son's life was worth 12 months."
