A Mega Millions player bought a ticket in western Fairfax
County that had the winning combination for a
$107 million jackpot. State lottery spokesman John Hagerty
says the ticket was sold at a Giant grocery store
in Herndon. It's the seventh Mega Millions jackpot claimed by a Virginia player since the game began in
2002, and the store gets a $50,000 bonus.

Winning Tickets Sold:
The winner of the Mega Millions lottery has yet to claim the $250,000 price. There is actually 1 in 3.9 million
chances for anybody to predict the five winning numbers, excluding the Mega Ball, in the Mega Millions
lottery. And that very fortunate “one” who won last July 27, 2010 has not yet claimed his prize and time is
running out for that lucky (our could be unlucky soon) winner.
The one sold in California is worth $701,316 while the other three are each worth $250,000, California
Lottery officials announced. California law requires most major payoffs of lottery games to be paid on a
pari-mutuel basis.
The numbers drawn Tuesday night were 12, 17, 27, 47, 48 and the Mega number was 33. The estimated
jackpot was $88 million.
Starting on July 2, 2011, KNIN, will begin airing the Powerball draws on Saturday and Wednesday nights
live at 8:59 p.m. Mountain Time. The Powerball draws will continue to originate from Universal Studios in
Orlando, Florida.
Both drawings will continue live on KNIN Channel 9 live when the station affiliation changes to the Fox
Network on September 1, 2011.
