Longest sea bridge opens, "China's Jiaozhou"

China has opened the world’s longest cross-sea bridge - which stretches five miles further than the distance

between Dover and Calais.


The Jiaozhou Bay bridge is 26 miles (42 kilometers) long and links China's eastern port city of Qingdao to the

island of Huangdao.

State-run CCTV says the 110-foot (35-meter)-wide bridge is the longest of its kind and cost more than 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion).

"Bunch of wannabes,'' Causeway General Manager Carlton Dufrechou said.

The $2.3 billion Jiaozhou Bay bridge in the east China city of Qingdao opened to vehicles Thursday and

measures 26 miles, a little more than two miles longer than the Causeway, which checks in at nearly 24 miles.

An Associated Press story touts the Jiaozhou Bridge as the new world's longest bridge over open water. So

does the Guinness Book of World Records (which now relegates the Causeway to No. 2) and the oft-used-

but-sometimes-not-totally-accurate Wikipedia website.

Johnson & Johnson issued another recall notice today for its Tylenol products after receiving reports of a musty, moldy odor.

This time it was for 60,912 bottles of its Tylenol Extra Strength pain relief medicine.

The company also announced it was expanding a previous recall announced in January.

The reason for the recall is said to be user complaints that the medicines have moldy odor,About 718,000 bottles or packages of Tylenol,

Microsoft will officially launch Office 365 on June 28 at an event in New York City.

Office 365 is an online-based service that shares similarities to Google Apps and Zoho, and it lets people collaborate on documents,

A big earthquake hit Japan today. Early Thursday, Japan was jolted by a 6.7-magnitude earthquake in the same area where a 9.0-magnitude earthquake in March caused a destructive tsunami that claimed thousands of lives.
The 6.7 magnitude quake was located east coast of Japan, near Honshu, early Thursday morning.

The epicenter of the new Japan earthquake occurred near the east coast of Honshu, Japan, the same epicenter as the deadly March 11, 2011 earthquake.

The quake struck in many of the same areas that were hit hard by the March earthquake and tsunami that left more than 23,000 dead or missing in Japan,

Net income may decline to 270 billion yen ($3.4 billion) in the 12 months ending March 31 from 319.2 billion yen a year earlier, the Yokohama-based company said in a statement today.
