since 1851. The New York Times has won 106

Pulitzer Prizes, the most of any news organization. Its website

is the most popular American online newspaper

website, receiving more than 30 million unique visitors per month.

The New York Times Company said on Friday that it
had sold more than half of its minority ownership in the

Boston Red Sox and several other sports properties.

The company sold 390 of the 700 Class B units of the Fenway Sports Group that it owned to three separate

buyers in a deal for $117 million. The company, which did not disclose the buyers, expects to record a pretax

gain of about $64 million in the third quarter because of the sale.

The complete archive of The New York Times can now be searched from NYTimes.com — more than 13

million articles total.

The News Corporation, which is controlled by Rupert Murdoch, had been trying since last winter to rid itself

of the unprofitable unit, which was a casualty of changing tastes and may be a cautionary tale for social

companies like Zynga and LinkedIn that are currently enjoying sky-high valuations.
