A new centre has been launched that will cement Oxford’s place at the forefront of cancer research.

The Oxford Cancer Research Centre is a partnership between Cancer Research UK, the University of Oxford and the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust. It will be funded by Cancer Research UK to the tune of £2.8 million in the first year.

The Cancer Vaccine Collaborative is an innovative clinical research program designed and directed by the Cancer Research Institute and the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research. The collaborative involves an unprecedented network of clinical investigators from medical centers in the U.S., Europe, Australia, and Asia, all working together to conduct a series of early-stage clinical trials on cancer vaccines. The goal of these trials is to teach us how to effectively immunize against cancer.
